Review: R. E. Carr's THE DOWNLOAD

Epically unique fantasy

The Download is a book you need to savor, don't skip a single sentence and don't skip to the end. Fast-paced and unique, Carr has developed a multilayered story which teleports the reader across time and space right along with the MC Jenn. Who would have thought, Mayan's and Aliens in the same story? But it works and it's quite awesome. And with an opening line like, "No one mind the ginger in the corner," what's not to love.

A must read.

Blurb: "It’s been ten years since Zack’s mother nearly died while saving the world against a Swarm invasion. She’s moving on, but Zack is having a hard time doing the same. Hell bent on revenge, Zack’s going to hunt down every last bit of space junk that falls from the sky, hoping to find a lead to the Swarm—even if those closest to him keep getting in the way."

Review: GONE by Elisabeth Naughton

I am never disappointed by Elizabeth Naughton. Her latest release GONE was no exception. Thrilling and romantic, this book kept me reading late into the night. Loved it. 5/5 stars.

Three years ago, Alec McClane and Raegan Devereaux lived every parent’s worst nightmare: their one-year-old daughter, Emma, was abducted from a park when Alec turned his back for just a moment. Emma was never found, and presumed dead. The crushing trauma, plus Alec’s unbearable guilt, ended the couple’s marriage.

Now a four-year-old girl matching Emma’s profile is found wandering a local park. Alec and Raegan are heartbroken to discover she’s not their daughter but are newly motivated to find closure…and each secretly feels desperate to be in the other’s presence again.

Alec suspects his vengeful biological father is behind Emma’s disappearance. But as Raegan investigates other abductions in the area, she sees a pattern—and begins to wonder if Emma’s kidnapping is actually linked to something more sinister.

As Alec and Raegan race to uncover the truth, a long-burning spark rekindles into smoldering passion, and they realize they need each other now more than ever.

Review: The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco

A truly original fantasy. The Bone Witch was a pleasure to read. It was refreshing to see a heroine driven by the connection to her brother instead of the typical YA love triangle. While Chupeco's world building was superb, I found the storyline of the alternate point of view to be most intriguing. Overall The Bone Witch was a great read and I really loved the cover.
