The Importance of Proper Character Description

When writing a character description, don't underestimate the impact of facial hair...

Unless said character is a woman
then it's best not to mention facial hair.

    1. Yay! My favorite is the Werewolf, categorized under "Dangerous."

  2. I personally do not like facial hair, so when I read that a character has any of these types, it's a turn off and the character to me is like a blob. I tell my husband he better never grow hair on his face. When he asked me why, I told him that every time I have to watch a bearded man talk, it makes me feel like I'm standing in front of a giant vagina with teeth (literally). I'm sorry, but it's true.

Just like when I see a head of dreadlocks, I automatically shudder because they remind me of tarantula legs.

    1. Okay, "giant vagina with teeth," that's the most amazing thing I've read in a while...

  3. Being a beardo... I wrote a main character with a beard.

I think Diane's comment has me flabbergasted!

And just saying... the soul patch is an abomination. Every time I saw that wanker Apolo Ohno in a winter Olympics, I wanted to reach through the screen and tear that scrap of hair off his lower lip in the most painful way possible.

    1. Diane's comment had my husband flabbergasted also. :) I didn't post his response thought... And I agree, Ohno's facial hair = yuck.

  4. Have you ever watched Community? There's a guy on there called Starburns, his sideburns actually look like stars, it's hilarious.

    1. No Way! I haven't seen that. I don't watch much TV anymore... but maybe I'll have to look up one of those episodes, that sounds really funny :)
